We hear the Oscar nominee has insisted on a nude scene in his latest film, Red Dragon - a prequel to Silence Of The Lambs. And we learn that he's not exactly lacking in the lunchbox department.
The 39-year-old plays Francis Dolarhyde - a serial killer nicknamed The Tooth Fairy - who beds a girl called Reba, played by Emily Watson. Ralph says he was asked if he wanted a robe to protect his modesty, but said no.
He says: "It's ridiculous when men get out of bed wearing underwear or pants after sleeping with a girl - it's just not realistic. Nudity's no big deal to me."
Clearly not.
But there was a technical hitch with regards to his nether regions. "We had to digitally remove part of his willy because it was so long," director Brett Ratner tells us. "In the end we had to remove three or four inches."
Of course, filming didn't just consist of cavorting around in the nude.
"They had to create this incredibly intricate tattoo all over my back and buttocks, and it took about eight hours to do each time," Fiennes reveals. "I had to start it at 2am each morning, and I wouldn't be ready until 10am to shoot. I just lay there and listened to music while the tattoo artist did the design.
"It was a very weird feeling having this thing all over my back, but it was kind of sexy."
No wonder he's so willing to show himself off.
