Artcore is proud to present the most recent series of work by Hollis Jeffcoat.
While Jeffcoat's painting is evolving towards abstraction, it is an abstraction which is firmly rooted in nature, a distillation of her reaction to the landscapes which inspire her work. Produced in oil on translucent vellum, a process which the artist has developed over several years, the landscapes seem to float on a screen we can almost see through, an effect which lends surprising depth to these works but also emphasizes the ephemeral aspect of vision. This series represents a return to her native Florida, after many years spent in France, Quebec, and most recently, New York.
Hollis Jeffcoat has exhibited extensively in New York, Paris, Montreal, and throughout the United States, and her work is featured in many private and corporate collections including those of Pierre Matisse in New York, and Dr. Max Stern in Montreal. She is also represented in the collection of the Morgan Library in New York and the print departments of both the Brooklyn Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Gallery hours: Tuesday - Saturday 11:00 - 5:00
